Performer’s Corner

Lion shoe covers work with a quick and easy Velcro system. The industry-standard is to sew the soft half of a Velcro strip on inside of the shoe cover. The sticky-backed half of the Velcro strip is affixed to the outside of the performer’s shoe. Here’s our honest assessment of lion shoe covers.

Disadvantages of shoe covers: might not fit around shoe as perfectly as lion paws, Velcro picks up lint and hair indiscriminately, performers have to dedicate a clean, new pair of shoes to this specific purpose, sticky Velcro strip should not be transferred from one pair of shoes to another as it will lose its tackiness.

Advantages of shoe covers: performers can wear the shoes of their choice, less expensive than lion paws, conveniently stored, can change colors of the shoe cover to match the lion without having to purchase a new shoe, lion pants usually camouflage shoe covers that don’t fit perfectly, look far better than cartoon character gloves.
