IT SEEMS COUNTERINTUITIVE TO PHOTOGRAPH a colorful tradition like lion dancing in black and white, but talented photographer Eric Schumacher is not one to blindly follow photographic trends. Schumacher captured these jarring images of performers from Kei Lun Martial Arts. By ignoring the use of color, Schumacher was able to isolate the essence of the lion’s power and motion. “I pick up my camera and focus on the moment, the energy of the people around me,” says Schumacher.
