In the Chinese classic, The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Kong Ming, also known as Zhuge Liang or the Sleeping Dragon, was a renowned military strategist even before he served Liu Bei. After he began his service to the Kingdom of Shu his fame only magnified. To this day, people still make references to his great wisdom and foresight. His most recognizable accouterment was his goose feather fan. The fan became so much a part of his identity that people began calling it a Kong Ming fan in his honor.
